My sister-in-law finally had her baby last week. Everything with the delivery went pretty well. She had a slight problem with blood pressure but after some medicine everything was groovy. .: Cheerful Model :.
I was working on getting some photography done this weekend since I was a bit more mobile. Some friends were over and we decided to go do a shoot and then go swimming.
I have shot this girl a few times but i think this shoot was more productive and it was a lot of fun as well…minus the heat and humidity. She is pretty much always willing to model and is very good at it. She has a beautiful smile, can give serious looks, and has a great body. What more could you ask for right? Unfortunately I can not post any pictures as that is the stipulation of me being able to take photos of her. I can however use them as practice and in my portfolio. None the less…here are a few behind the scenes images captured by Gail.
Thanks again to everyone involved and I look forward to the next time!

Worldwide Photo Walk – Cary, NC
This year I attended the Scott Kelby 2nd Annual Worldwide Photowalk. The location I chose was Cary, NC because at the time of registration I lived right around the corner. Between the time of registration and the actual event I moved to another city but still not that far away. Any way I was pretty excited when it finally got here because it was the first time since my wreck that I was able to go out shooting for a bit. I didnt get much sleep the night before but I managed to get a few shots that I was happy with.

Holiday Weekend Kick-off (Not!)
This past weekend as we all know was Independence Day (a.k.a. 4th of July). I was off of work on Friday and pretty excited about the 3 day weekend. I left work on Thursday at the normal time and was going to head over to work on a clients computer system and then head off to my monthly photo meeting. I never made it that far…

Site Changes
So it was recommended to me to install LightBox on the site so that it is easier to view larger images. I totally agreed and have now installed it.
My questions to you are:
– Would you like to be able to have a link to click on that would carry you to the flickr version of the image as well?
( Currently with the Lightbox setup there is no link. )
– How are you liking the site and how would you suggest I get more feedback on images and posts?
Other than that not too much has changed around here other than updating some things and minor changes.
Thanks and have a wonderful day!

Yate’s Mill County Park – Detailed
As usual I was out and about at lunch a few days ago. We decided to head over to Yates Mill County Park since Jason had not been there before. It was hot and muggy but bearable in the shade. I knew when we pulled up that I wanted some detail shots, not “overall” photos as I had been there before and knew what to expect. I focused my attention on details and textures. There are still some other ones I want to get but that will be another day.
If you have never been to Yates Mill, here is what you can expect:
A day at Historic Yates Mill County Park offers visitors an “Escape from the Everyday Grind,” with unique cultural and environmental experiences. The park boasts nearly 174 acres of land, including the 20-acre millpond, which is part of the Swift Creek nutrient-sensitive water-supply watershed. Diverse park habitats include pond, creek, wetlands and forests. (WakeGOV.com)
Read on to find the history of Yates Mill, how it is used today, and some more images.

Fixing a Tattoo
This past weekend I was asked to drive a friend to get his tattoo fixed. Of course I would help a friend but on top of that it gave me an opportunity to take pictures of something different and possibly out of my comfort zone. Therefore I was pretty excited!
Before any one says anything…I know these are not “artsy” or anything fancy but he is going back again and I will try to work the artsy side then.
Read the rest of the post to hear the story behind the tattoo and why it had to be fixed along with some more images.

Hidden Locations
Driving around town I often wonder what hidden things or places that I pass by. If you really think about it, there could be anything, anywhere and that is kind of interesting to me. Read below to see some of Raleigh’s hidden places that are not so well known.

NC Farmer’s Market
Yesterday at lunch Jason and I decided to head over to the Farmers Market for some photo ops and i wanted some fruit. It was a beautiful day with a nice breeze blowing so I could not stand sitting inside at my desk much. Heading out I knew I wanted to get a picture of strawberries and corn or another vegetable. Upon walking through the various building I was able to grab some great images of flowers, fruit, vegetables, and a couple people. Here are some images from the day..I hope you enjoy them!

Visiting Beaufort, NC
I know this is a week late but i was in class/training all last week and my schedule was NUTS!
For Memorial Day weekend Nicole and I decided to go back and camp in Beaufort for a night. We have visited part of the area before but wanted to go back and atleast grab another lighthouse. We are working on going to all of them on the outer banks. We also wanted to visit Morehead City, Fort Macon again, and Atlantic Beach.
